Had a 5.5g tank lying around so I decided to start it up. I am only going to have one fish and maybe a cleaner shrimp and pistol shrimp. I made it so I could have the equipment hidden. Also this tank is going to be like an experiment to. I got the sand from the beach. I swam about 20 yards off and would swim down and scoop up a cup full of sand each time so now I have live sand crawling with copepods. I also got the water from the beach to.

so with the equipment hidden how many gallons is it in the display part? a cleaner shrimp will most likely be to big for such a small tank. i could be wrong tho. looks like a good start!

Imo 5.5g is way to small for fish but thats just "mo"
but have 2 sexy srimp would be a benifit for them as they do need small tanks to highten their survival rate.

There is a thread on Reef Central that has a fully operational 5.5 pico tank. It is beautiful. I am also building one. I will be following this. Good luck w/ your build.

In our nano section there is probably 3-4 current diaries going, fwiw
