just wondering if i could get away with a 5g qt for my clown because i dont have room to add another 10g the qt would house a blue damsel and my clown both hang around with each other and get along great

The only way to know os to try. In my 72G I have a pair of clowns that still hang around this one rock all the time. When I had the damsels in the tank they actually shared it with them and got along fine. Things sometimes tend to change when they are in close quarters though. Even though either rarely left that small area they still could if they had wanted too.
