54 gallon corner bow sump

I have a 54 gallon corner bow. My sump is really old and I want to replace it. Has anyone heard of someone using a triangle shaped sump? I have a acrylic guy who seems confident it will work, but I am unsure. If I went with a triangle it would allow me extra space in the stand and I would have less waisted space. Otherwise I have to go with a 18" x 9" x 15" rectangle. Advise?

i have the same tank and went with a traditional rectangular wet/dry sump. i can't remember the dimensions, but i will check when i get home. as far as a triangle goes, you just need to think about waterflow. triangles are not very streamline = turbulent waterflow. jmho.
