Decided to build a new stand for my current 55 gal. tank and i wanted the stand to be big enough to support a 75 gal. tank which is what i will be upgrading to in March. I figured since im a college student on a buget, it would be alot cheaper for me to build the stand then to go buy a premade one for $200.

If you would like to know the measurements for the stand just let me know and i will post them, along with the design i followed.

Outside of the stand ,top, and doors are made of 3/4" Red Oak.
Sides are on

Front is on

Top is on and the stand is level

Now all that is needed is the doors, the back, and to stain and seal it.

Money spent so far.
(6) 8 foot 2x4's = $12.00
8'x4' sheet of 3/4" Red Oak from Home Depot: $40.00
Screws: $6.00
Wood Glue: $2.00
Sand Paper: $5.00

I know the 75 is wider (front to back) than the 55, since you built the stand for the 75 will the 55 have enough support where it needs it?

Yea i took that into consideration when i was building the stand, there are now 3 supports on the top part of the frame that run front to back so im sure it will support the 55g. I forgot to take a picture of it before i put the top on it. Ill see if i can get one from the inside of the stand.
