I'm new to the forum. Thanks for having me.
A couple of nights a go my tank cracked due to the heater touching the glass(the best that I can figure what happened). Anyway, I've fostered my Morey's until everything is stable. My questions is this: If I used the same filter, gravel, and aprox 10% of the water, will I need to "cycle" the tank again?
Thanks

Do/did you have Live Rock in the tank??
The sand, and filter material would contain some beneficial bacteria for you bio-filtration. The old tank water holds very little beneficial bacteria. Your biggest Bio filter would be your live rock.
In theory, if you flipped a tank and used all the same live rock you would not see much of a cycle.

Not enuff to make a difference...in this case, your biofiltration is coming from whatever media is in your filter. If you use the same biomedia, you might "short cycle" if the bacteria haven't died off. Additionally, I wouldn't reuse the CC at all (traps too much crud for my liking), but if you like CC, you'll want to give it a good cleaning before reusing it.
