55 gal lighting...this good?

I am looking at purchasing a 4' hood with 2 -250 watt - 20K MH. Is this okay for a 55, to much too little?
It is 650.00 is this to much or average?

sounds good...but you can get a reefstar that is 2 250 MH and is a pendant which has better cooling for $500

Yeah...the tank is in the master bedroom...so I don't really want pendants hanging from the ceiling...I just don't like the look, like Ali said. I would rather pay the little bit extra to have the hood. My tank is rather new, about 4 months...doing good, but getting the red slime algae because my current lighting isnt sufficient...I am also buying a RO/DI so the water quality is going to improve a lot, since I have been using tap...I know shame on me...that is all I had at the time... I am hoping these two improvements will help my tank take off so I can have a tank like many of the pictures I see on this site...
I am going to order them this week sometime I will for sure let everyone know when I get them and how things are going once they are on!!!
I am like a little kid at christmas...I just can't wait!

:happyfish Until you get your ro unit, you can buy the water at safeway stores, and most other grocery stores. That's what I did until I could afford mine. Sometimes installing those ro units can be a butt too, so that can buy you some time. Good luck with everything, and let us know how it goes, ali
