Yes, there is room in mine. This is exactly what I am about to do. I will be adding my 55 under this stand. I just measured my new one at the store the other day.

Got to ask, have you thought about how to get the sump in there? To me, does not look like enough room. Just a thought.

I have thought about it and I will have to remove a brace in the back or make another door on the end.
