I would also suggest a few more peices of live rock.
I really like the vally rift type look. Thats the way my tank is too.
Looking good keep it up.

BLAZEHOK68, yes i definatly know what u mean...money is a huge issue with my tank, but if u just go little by little ur tank will turn out sweet, i would say just go for 20 or 30 more lbs of LR then shoot for the corals ur on the right track though (very impressed)

thanks, eventually the tank will get filled. after i read your reply i actually went over to my tank and visualized what it would look like with more rock. and i agree with you i do need more rock. not only for asthetics but better filtration.

nice aquarium. One thing though. Is your mandarin eating prepared foods? They are quite tough to care fore, and unless he is eating prepared foods, needs quite a bit of live rock (at least 100#s) and a mature tank (at least 6 months to get a good microfauna population). He can take 6 months to slowly starve to death, so if he loses size, or does not grow, you may want to find him a better home. But he is very beautiful.

he is actually eating prepared foods. frozen mysis shrmp, some brine shrimp, and this special frozen food that my lfs gave me that they said that they had luck with mandarins eating it. i forget what its called though.

Good, glad to hear it. A lot of people will put a madarin in their tank, not knowing about their diet, and a long time ago I tried to do the same, and luckily my lfs didn't make the sale because they educated me.
