55 Gallon Eel tank

i am geting a 55 gallon tank and would like to make it an eel tank. i would like
1 banded moray
1 Panther grouper
something else
now to the questions..
will that eel work togeater in a 55 gallon?
I would be using a hob filter. i would buy a glass lid and cut a hole in the back plastic so the lid hole would be really tight... is that ok?
what do i feed him?
i know the moray likes crustaceans so i was thinking of buying some ghost shrimp or hermit crabs and let them run around in there with him. would that work?
i would like to get a panther grouper in there and maybe something else.. would the grouper work and what else should i get?

ya thats most likely it i dont know much about eels but i think a 55 gallon is good for a snowflake just my 2 cents.

this may not be what you wanna hear but if you didnt get the tank already look into a 125
I got a 55 gallon for 100$ used than got a 125 gallon for 250$new 3 months later cause
i fell in love with eel lions puffers groupers etc. and they just plain grow too fast.
a 125 is a great tank and those fish will get alot of time out of that tank before they get too big.here are some pics.

saddle back puffer flame hawkfish Pseudochromis and Dottyback those would work and damsels.

That grouper will get to big for a 125 they need a min. of 300 gallons.
but nice looking tank

You could get a Chainlink Moray, that would probaly work in a 55 gallon

That 55 looks tiny compared to your 125. Someday I'll get a bigger tank if and when my wife will let me and if and when we move out of our condo in Boston.
