Terrific shots, but would expect nothing less from Nikon!!!!!!!!!!!!
My question is, why do you have a butterfly fish in a reef tank? You know it's going to eat your corals one day?

He is a model citizen... The Coral Banded Butterfly is know to be reef safe with Catiuon... My LFS has 2 Huge Coral Displays 600 Gallon +, with 2 very old full grown CBB in them.. They actually trust them...
If mine ever gives me a reason to not trust, I'll go from there...
Mine also ate from day one.. He eats like a pig. I made sure he ate in the LFS before I took him... I feed him BloodWorms and Mysis shrip soaked in Xtreme Garlic....

YAY Butterflyfish fan,and not all Butterflyfish aren't reef safe. And some that are usually reef safe like most dwarf angels, and most that aren't reef safe.
REEF SAFE
Longfin Bannerfish
Yellow Pyramid
and alot of rare ones I forgot there names.
USUALLY REEF SAFE
Declivis
Marginalis
Tinkers
Rosey Longnose
Poey's
Very Longnose
Longnose
Copperband
Frembli if you only have soft coral and inverts in a reef if it is a soft coral reef it is completly reef safe.
NOT REEF SAFE.The rest either have a low chance to no chance.

this camera seems to really take some good pics...my wife just got one for mother's day and i was wondering what kind of settings you use for tank shots and also was wondering about your lighting. what lense do you use. her's came with two different ones ... 18-55mm and 55-200mm

Frozen Blood Worms, and Frozen Mysis Shrimp... Been soaking them in Extreme garlic... He eats like a fat pig :)
I have those 2 len's you mentioned... In my other thread, they recommend the 18-55 for tank shots....
I just love how fast the SLR takes pics...
Lighting is a Nova T5 Fixture...

Nice pictures. I want to get a SLR some day. I have a Sony H5 or something like that. Not even close as a slr for close ups.

Stick with the wide lense 18-55mm if you want some nice images with an out of focus background use the 55-200mm and shoot from a distance ...also use a tripod ... I shoot most tank stuff at 200 ASA. good luck :happyfish
