It all depends on wahat you are going to use if for. If it is going to be a swim tank and the LR is going to be user primarily for decorations you do not need much. If you are going to be starting a reef anywhere from 1.5-2 lbs per gallon is suggested. I have a 55 and currently have 65-75 lbs in my tank. I will be adding another 20 when I move in a month. So what are you going to be doing with the tank?

Depends what you want your tank to look like. You want it full from top to bottom and side to side? Or do you want a little valley on the sides or middle?

The actinic's and the 10k lights run at the same time. The Actinic's can be turned on and off 30-60mins prior and after the 10k to created a dawn dusk affect. Is the HOB filter the only circulation you have in the tank? do you have any PH's? what do you have in you other tanks?

The fixture has 4 bulbs, each 65 watts, right? You turn on the blue lights in the morning, then wait an hour, then turn on the daylights. Then at night turn off the daylights, the wait an hour, then turn off the actinic blues. You can put these lights on timers too.

I would definitely add more circulation. I would use several PH's A good rule of thumb is 15-25X turnover in an hour. So you should have between 825 adn 1375 GPH flow. I would definitely shoot for 1375 GPH.

When everyone says circulation, does that mean the amount of water that goes through the filer and back to the tank?
Please define/explain circulation.

Circulation aides filters by keeping deritus(sp) in the water column. This way the filter can filter that bad stuff out. Increased circulation aides in decreasing dead spots(areas where deritus settles and fouls the water). If you have a ton of LR I would increase circulation because there will be a lot of spaces for that bad stuff to settle. I personally believe in at least 20X turnover, be it through PH's, Filters, etc.. JMO

Point them towards the center of the tank, towards the rocks. The point of PH's is to keep crap from settling on the floor of the aquarium. If you keep deritus in the water column it will eventually be picked up by your filter.

beautful,
check out this link it will give you all that acronyms that you need so that you can understand what people are talking about
I have also read some of your post. IMO I think you need to slow down and research. And then research some more. You seem to be in such a hurry. IMO the slower you get to where you want to be the better off you probably will be.
