yeah. my 55 reef is getting the 4' 5x 54watt aquactinics T5 fixture. if you really want an anemone you're probably going to need at least T5's.

If you want to keep whatever you want, then save up for the MH lights. I'd go with two 150 or 175W bulbs. With those, you could keep stony corals and even anemones (provided adequate filtration, tank parameters, ect)

I have a 55 also now converted to a reef. I use I use the tek light t-5's. I am very happy with it. I have a BTA a florida anenome, a frog spawn, a candy cane trumpet. The reason why I dont need the mh is our tanks are not deep enough to require anything stronger........goog luck I will post pics if you would like just post back and let me know.

in a smaller setup like this T5 would probably be a better choice over halides. if you get a good fixture that has individual reflectors and is properly cooled, good bulbs, and a powerfull ballast, the par ratings you could get would be comparable to a 150-175 mh setup. the only thing that would be lacking would be the shimmer, high heat, and energy bills. most reefers in europe are using T5's more than halides now days.
