Blue Hipo tang
Blakcap basslet
Royal Gramma
Lawnmower blenny(orange spot)
Percula clown fish( pair of black and white
Blue Reef chromis
Yelowbelly damsel
As for Corals we havend decided on much at all, we do want some green carpet anenomes and maby so fether dusters.
Also we have about 20 blue leged heermist and 15 scarlet hemits and 25 snails, 1 shimp.

Skip the tang. Two reasons : #1 - they require 125 gallon tank and need lots of swimming room. #2 - most tangs are proned to ich.
Damsels do get extremely aggressive and territorial in time as they get bigger.

I agree, tangs are better left in large systems. I guess I am a hypocrite, I have a Kole Tang in my 75g. I do however plan on trading him back before he outgrows my tank.
I also have 9 blue green reef chromis, which I love. They fall into the damsel category but have not shown any signs of aggression. They schoal together and are very peaceful and entertaining.

Hi SUV,
Depending on the ADULT size of your choice of fish, you will be limited to about 7 waste producers. Crabs and snails don't count as part of that number, they are a fair trade since they clean up uneaten food and other waste.
That said, your pair of clowns (i like the black and whites too) will be territorial and so should be the last fish, and purchase them together.
The chorimis are a nice fish. I have a pair that were purchased together and they do well.
I have not had a royal gramma or basslet, but I have not heard any derogatory stories.
And that would be seven.

your list is not to bad. drop the hippo, they are right, they need a 6 ft tank to swim.
pick either the gramma or the black cap, they will fight
The damsle may get mean
so from your list
2 black clowns
either the gramma or the black cap
the lawnmower blenny
and the chromis. they should be kept in odd numbers 1,3,5
what you could add
firefish gobie for a flash of red and white
clown gobie for a flash of bright yellow
bi-color for purple and gold. but may not get along with lawnmower I have both and they have thier own little space

Hey, thanks for the replies. So it seems like the verdict is that if I drop the tang I could have everything on the list other than either the blackcap or the gramma.
2- Black and white clowns
1-Royal gramma
1-Orange spot lawnmower blenny
1-3 Chromis
Also any sugestions on croals and anenomes?

For corals I suggest starting with all the softies. They are easy and they also add lots of color to your tank. Some examples to check out are:
Ricordias
Mushrooms
Zoanthids
Xenia
Here are some pics of my 50 gallon tank if you want some ideas.

As for which Anemone you choose it would depend on which type of Clowns you get. XDave has provided a list that breaks down which Anemones each Species of Clowns prefer.
Clown/Anemone List
Good Luck!!

Thanks so much for your kind compliments. The Orange Polyps are effortless. As long as you have Power Compact lights or better and good water quality you are all set. I personally wouldnt get a tang in a 55 period. I would love to get a yellow tang myself but I cant do it. A cramped fish, in my opinion, is just like locking a German Sheperd in a crate all day. Good Luck!!!
