i have a 55 gal tank. i am going to set it up for marine fish only with live sand and rock. i would like quite a few fish, lively, the sort that come to the front of the tank wen u go near. and i would love some shrimp etc to scurry across the bottom. anyone got an idea of wot sort of fish and critters i shud get?

If you want fish with a lot of personality and color get a false percula clownfish. They have really funny personalities and they are always out in front (most of the time). I like the cleaner shrimp. If you stick your hand in the tank they will climb all over it. Another good fish is the royal gramma, they are pretty but are kinda shy.

Hi-
I just started stocking my 55 gal. tank. I put in 2 false percula clowns and a skunk shrimp so far. With just these, i sit in front of the tank for hours just watching them. I can't wait to add a few more- Next will be some sort of Blennie or maybe a couple of Bangaii Cardinals. Good luck!

Here is a list of good fish and inverts for a 55 gallon. Fish-ocellaris clown, sixline wrasse, royal gramma, orchid dottyback, dwarf angels,(tank needs to be mature for angels tho), firefish, blennies, gobies, inverts-the infamous cleaner shrimp, hermit crabs, emerald crab, coral banded shrimp. The options are many, just don`t overdue it. hth

I have a busy 55gal with royal gramma, sixline wrasse, yellow tang, tomato clown, mandarin, 2 cleaner shrimp and fire shrimp. Now I am way fully loaded on fish and some would say a 55 gal is too small for a tang( so guess I'm going to have to get a bigger tank pretty soon.) Fish are friendly and except for mandarin come up to glass etc. click on house above this message to see pics. :D
