5g why not?

so I was goofing around today......
and you know what that means.
I had a small pile of leftover rock from setting up my 125 (which I found out is a 130) but anyhow. I took a 5g acrylic shallow tank and took a few minutes to cut a hole in the back for an over flow and set it on an old sump i had kicking around, dumped some sand in it and started circulating it. I think I may use it for frag I want out of the dt so they dont get lost. lil' mini me frags. snagged a new bulb and stuck it in an old fixture (one of the ballasts blew so I stopped using it but 65w should be enough for this little tank). tossed in a few handfulls of cheato to get soem microfauna in the sand bed (primarily brislte worms, I'll raid my DT later for some spagghetti worms)
I know there is coraline buildup on the front pane, dont care, its just a holding tank and the plastic is so cheap scraping the coraline off just marrs the plastic so I dont worry about it.

the best part is doing water changes. I'll just siphon the sump down the drain till its empty and refill it. (thats a 75%) because the sump has about 15g of water. and the "DT" wont be affected untill I restart the circulation. way too easy

Why not? Well, don't you have like 5 tanks running? I saw your 125 build and it looks like you are hoarding aquariums like you should be on that show on A & E...hahaha...sorry, I had to do it!

so I cut some frag and put some corals in the 5g. since I used all established medi there was no cycle to speak of. of course the tank is still establishing itself, but the sump was up and running for months all I did was add more cured rock. some of the frags are in really rough shape, the acan was a dyijng freebie, so is the green(?) monti cap. I tossed a mix of stuff in there to see how it does.
here are a couple pictures. going to be nice to know I wont be losing any small frags amongst my rock work anymore.

no joe the tank is a 5g acrylic sitting on top of a 20g glass sump, with 65w pc lighting, and a berlin 220 skimmer. it is completley seperate from my dt. I'll try and take a few better pictures of my set up tommorrow morning to clarify what I have done here.
