6,500k One Gallon

I got this setup for 27 dollars from a well-hated chain store. The light is only 6,500K but is 7 watts. The tank is only one gallon COMPLETELY full, but obviously does not get filled to the top. Add rock and sand and your around 3/4 gallon total. The water and sand came from my WELL established reef, as well as the mushroom from my frag cup. Not bad for day one huh?

Since the light is only 6,500K I will only keep softies limited to mushrooms and zoas..for livestock I am planning on a show size yellow tang, a clown trigger and a queen angel..all show size of corse!

I like that. It's a cool looking little tank. I may get one for my office. What store (if you're allowed to tell me here) did you get it from?
I'd also add a Batfish!

I see plenty of others posting this retail chains name on here...but just because others do doesn't mean it is right. I will hint to you though...it rhymes with Jet(Co). I would like to make an acrylic top, but I am debating as I do not know how this will effect gas exchange. I did just rearrange the setup and will post a pic in a minute.

Here is after moving the light and filter. I like it better this way..

I laugh when I think of telling someone over last weekend that my 150G is easier to maintain than my 5.5 AIO by a LONG shot and that anything less capacity would be near impossible. But, I am one for a challenge!

Just as a quick update I fragged some stuff from my 10G tonight after dinner for the 1G. I will have pictures (tonight) as soon as they open back up.

looks good, can't wait to see live coral or something in there
There is one shroom in there on top that I fragged a few weeks ago. I got some zoas I added that I fragged tonight-- just waiting for them to fully open before taking a picture. On a side note I marked on the side of the tank the water line. Without even changing enough to notice a drop in the water level, the SG changed by .003. This will be fun keeping in check!

Looks cool, and also very challenging

Thanks! I am sure evap will be worse now since I had to take out several cups of water to make room for the new addition:

And the FTS:

What does everyone think? I appreciate the comments!
Right now the temp stays stable between 70-73 night to day without a heater. I may have to figure something out eventually, but for now all is good it seems. I will have pics when the zoos open up!

If anyone knows where you can get the 18w 50/50 from the tom deco kits PM me or just hint to me. I have checked his site and found nothing. 18w for 1 gal ;)

Added another shroom frag to the sandbed hopefully it stays in place. also one zoa polyp I found in my other reef is now in the back right corner waiting to open. Also a frag I have not got to open for several weeks from yet a third reef of ours.

Check back frequently. Tonight I will have the wifeys camera for better pictures.
Day #3.

I removed the camelback and put him in the fuge of a different system of mine. I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling he is the reason why some polyps aren't open at times when I go to stare.
