Everything is still high as far as ammonia and nitrites. Here in about an hour I am going to ***** for a nitrate test kit. Does algae growth mean I now have nitrates?

What method did you use to start your cycle. Shrimp, ghost feeding? Just curious, as I'm about to start my cycling tonight (just need to get my overflow installed. Sounds like you are on your way!

Yes, nitrates are the end result of the cycling process before it is turned into nitrogen that release at the water surface. Having algae growth is actual a good thing, it consumes nitrates and phosphates adds oxygen to the water and provides a natural food source for fish and pods. The only bad thing is it’s unsightly for use the fish keeper, this why people grow macro algae in there sumps, it does all the good things and grows where we want it to.

I ghost fed. Well it seems like my ph and kh are dropping like flies. Ph-7.0 kh-8 drops....is this normal in the cycle?

No because there nothing in your tank to use it up. Are you using RO water and water and were your levels correct at start? As for ghost feeding if haven't already you need to stop feeding your DT until all levels go down to 0. I would not test for anything but ammonia, nitrite and nitrate for now. Your tank is going thru a lot of changes so you may just be getting false readings.
