So, the tank has been going for 6 months now upgraded from a 29G to a 72 Bowfront and a couple of thousands of dollars later. Here is the equipment. Fluval 404, MaxiJet 1200 w/ AquaC Remora Skimmer, Hagen 70 Powerhead, Seio 820, Seio 620, And another powerhead I forget the brand rated at about 150. Coralife 260 Watt Compacts. I have about a 2-4" sandbase and about 100lbs of live rock. I honestly dont know how much live rock is in there. Current occupants are a Yellow Tang, Clown Fish, Foxface, 2 Damsels (previous occupants, sentinmental fish lol) Have a clean up crew, of queen conch, turbos snails, red and blue hermits, cleaner shrimp, emerald crabs (one of which seems to be getting huge) peppermint shrimp (i only ever see one though)
Sorry this is so lengthy, but my questions are this. First my powerheads, I have the Hagen in the back behind the rocks, The larger Seio behind rocks in the front, the other two hangin on the tank pointing down. My problem is that the jets seem to either not hit the sand or move the ssand to expose the tank.
Next, my rocks, is it worth redoing all the rocks? ive since added some and im not sure if its worth the time, but id like i think i could make it look better...why you ask, well its difficult now with all the occupants...any suggestions to decrease me bot?ering them so much.
The sand, best way to clean it?and keep it clean...should i add more conchs, what else would you suggestion adding to clean it. Some of the cleaners have perished, should i add more, starfish? anything? I dont have a lid so gobies are out.
A test kit, what is the best one? I have the one, its terrible.
Finally, I will be adding coral, I know with my light I am limited but id like to add about 4-5 of them.
Thanks again everyone, youve all been a great help in the past and I look forward to hearing your thoughts. All in all, everything is good, coraline growth has been great and now its starting to grow on the glass, the fish are hearty and happy, althought a little shy. We swear the cleaner shrimp will soon be bigger than the tank lol I will have some pics up soon too
