I've been playing around with taking shots from the top of the tank, to get some nice down shots. Here's a few which I enjoyed. Please note that not all pictures are down shots.

I'm addicted...one more :)
By the way- notice the Pink w/ yellow tip Millepora at the top of picture? I took a small frag of the Mother as a backup. I never noticed it until now :)

Mike, waterfaller and RyeBread,
Thanks a lot! That was my first try at trying down shots. The way that my canopy is built, it's quite difficult to care clear shots.

How do you do those close polyps macro shots?
You mean like the Purple w/ Brown M. digitata?
I will usually make the size of the photo as big as I can, in my case it's around 2560x1920. Use auto focus to focus up on what you're going to be taking a picture of. Then, snap the shot. Upload it on to the computer, and often you get a picture that is way too big for your screen. From there, scroll to the area of the picture you want (don't resize the overall picture) and cut it out. You could then make a picture of that clip.
A few of my Macro Shots can be seen Here
NM Reef,
Thanks! :)
Here's another shot I took last night. I just uploaded it directly to the computer. There was no editing done on the photo.

Where should I start? The purple A. Valida RTN'ed while I was on vacation, as did the Gemmifera from heat related reasons. The A. Humilis is still doing fine though. I've seen some growth from it, although the coloration has faded. I'm done with wild colonies as well as the wild frags. They're not too hardy.

to help with those pictures from up top, grab a large scuba mask and float it on top of the water and shoot through it. it will take the glare from the water.

Good Idea! I'll try that! Thanks!

Beautiful shots Graham !!!! Like the Zoo's alot, personally I'll just look at the photos of them. I have heard they are tough to keep. I'll stick with my stonies and softies ... And live off of the eye candy of them !! :)

Tough to keep? Mine spread like weeds. From my experience, they're one of the easiest things to keep in my tank. From my experience they're also immpossible to kill, even after injecting them with kalkwasser paste.
Anyway, thanks for the comments! :)
