Hello I've been out of the salterwater game for about 3 or 4 years now. I've had tanks from 150 down to a a bunch of biocubes, nanos n such. Just got this brand new setup all I'm having trouble with is the LED lights... It seems rather recent they blew up the reef market and I've missed all the specs.
From what I've read you want to go about 1 watt per gallon with LEDs, is this true?
I've found some middle of the road units and I'm wondering if a 160w LED fixture is enough for my tank.
Or if a 120w LED is enough for my tank?
I am purchasing 1 right now, got to let the tank cycle and everything still and I plan on buying a 2 fixtures total when it's all done
My tank is 36" long so eventually 2 units 120w or 160w each! So overall around 300w is this good?
Also is the 1 fixture okay for now?
Thanks so much guys first thing I did when I knew I was getting a tank, was to hop back on SWF.com lol
