65g Stocking List & Questions

I am purchasing a 65g tank in the next few days and I’m going to begin cycling it to set up an aggressive tank. I have experience with reef tanks; however, this is my first adventure into aggressive ones.
I really would like to have a lion, a trigger, and some sort of eel and I wanted to see what suggestions you all had on what species would do well together as well as stocking lists for a cleanup crew (I know the aggressive fish tend to eat certain inverts). On another note, if we did have those three would we be able to have any other smaller fish (perhaps that school together?)
Any help/tips/suggestions would be welcomed! :jumping:

you will want to stay with a dwarf lion, as far as a trigger they will all outgrow a 65 gallon. I would say a snowflake would be a good choice...well for a little while anyways. If you want a eel that can live in there forever you might want to go with dwarf eel as well but they run pretty high on the prices. Im sure some other will post some other stuff so good luck to ya.

If I cut out the trigger, what other fish are good for a tank this size? I've seen a few posts about valentini puffers and wrasses but I didn't know if there were more. Also what about a foxface?
On the eel, I don't really care for the snowflake. Are there any other species that would stay relatively small and as far as escaping are all eels prone to escape from the tank?

yes all eels r prone to escaping, theyre natural escape artists. awhile after ur tank has cycled u mite consider a ribbon eel, altho u need very high water conditions and u need to make sure it is eating well.

I used to have a foxface when I had my reef tank but we broke it down and sold it off when we moved because we didn't want to have to deal with the hassle. They are great fish, peaceful unless provoked, and very nice to look at
