I am currently using a Mag-Float in a couple of my tanks and I am wondering what you all are using for a quick, daily scrape?
I know that there are some better brands out there that are stronger and more effective........anyone using them?
*Anyone who is planning on getting a Mag-Float or already uses one, be careful not to pick up any sand from your substrate with it and run it across the glass.......it will scratch it up.

Mag Float here...
But like you said, must use caution when cleaning near the substrate. I put a few scratches in my glass before I knew better:mad: Now, I scrape the glass near the sandbed with an old credit card.
Despite that one problem, it's a very convenient and time saving tool for daily touch-ups. Besides, my clowns love to sleep on it:D

true about the sand- scratches like none other-
I have used a few of them including a magfloat and i must say that a magnavore is by far the best i have used- if u take the acrylic pad off and just use the glass cleaner- it is tough enough to scrape off coralline algae- providing you get the right size for your glass thickness

I have a Magnavore for each of my tanks. It is incredibly strong and has NEVER seperated while cleaning. In fact it is hard to seperate for ANY reason! Does an excellent job cleaning! Just make sure you get the right size for your tank wall thickness. They are a tad expensive initially, but well worth the investment in the long run! :D
