As you may know i have another post pertaining to my 155 bow front which is within 5 feet from my bed. It currently houses a black patch trigger and JUST finished cycling. This is the tank of my dreams and i finally got it shortly after my 18th birthday. i WENT FROM MY 8 GALLON(MY BABY) BIOCUBE TO A 150 BF TANK.
You can only imagine how excited i was and still am to have this beast of an aquarium.
UNFORTUNATELY IT MUST GO!!!

My brother, an avid piranha enthusiast, owned a 72 gallon bowfront aquarium (same stand and tank style as mine) and i came home a few days ago to find an odd noise coming what was a power head. I INSTANTLY notice all his flora is completely still as are his fish. It then dawns on me that his tank completely drained in our condo.(3rd story)
So i rushed to check on mine at the other end of the house to find my triggerfish begging for food. The water never even reached my room. however i am now afraid that mine will break somehow and it MUST go. i have a feeling if an insurance company saw the 155 in pieces they wouldnt be happy haha.
I NEED TO KNOW IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO MY BROTHERS TANK. there arent any breaks or cracks and seems to be leaking out the bottom left side when i pour a glass of h20 in it. its definetly a leak but does anyone know what would have cause this 1 year old all glass 72 bf to bust in my house? im ABSOLUTELY heartbroken by this entire affair....

I dont understand why yours MUST go. Just because one tank failed does no mean yours will. IDk know tho. Sorry for your loss. that sucks big time.

..no kidding, why in the world would you get rid of your tank because your brothers leaked? If you both had the same kind of car and his had an oil leak, would you really assume your car is going to spring an oil leak because they are the same make and model?
Maybe his tank was assembled on a Monday when the worker had a hangover and didn't care if the seams were perfect when he used the silicone. Your tank may have been built by a non-drinker on a Wednesday by a guy who takes great pride in his work...same company but two different qualities in the tanks. Don’t laugh, that kind of thing happens.
Renters insurance will cover if your tank springs a leak. Just let the agent know you have abig fish tank...That's what I did. Best $16.16 a month I ever spent.
