75 gal Canopy?

Anyone made a canopy for a 75gal? Looking for plans/pictures/ect.

Also, looking for some pros/cons of a canopy.
>Does a canopy reduce evaporation?
>Does it reduce the oxygen exchange of the tank?

I just finished a canopy for my 110g, which has the same footprint (18x48). It's listed in a thread on this section of the message boards.
In response to your questions, well, they both depend on a couple factors. Do you have a HOB filter, or is it reef ready? What sort of lighting do you have? And do you want your canopy to be fully enclosed, or will you leave the back open (or screened) for air flow?
I installed 2 12v fans in the top of my canopy. They do well to suck the hot air from the lighting system out through the top. My back section is open and vented with screening, so cool air has a path along the entire inside of the canopy. So far I haven't noticed any temperature increase, and my evaporation is still about the same: 1 g/day.

Thanks, I will check out your recent thread. My tank is reef ready. And I have a coralife 48in PC lighting. I plan to upgrade in the future to MH or T5.
I was hoping it a canopy would reduce evaporation but I will be setting up an ATO soon so it wont be as much manual labor replenishing the evaporated water.

OK, with that in mind I would say that you're going to get the same amount of evaporation because of the evap in the sump filter under your tank. Your lighting won't cause any major heat buildup, but if you're going to upgrade to a different light I would definitely recommend 1 or 2 fans built in now, while you're at it. Also keep in mind that metal halides usually need to be higher off the water surface than t5s or PCs, so that may affect the height of the canopy. I'd say you're probably going to see a slightly reduced evaporation, but only until you install your MHs.
