Looking good! I would reverse one of those fans in your canopy so that 1 is blowing in and the other is blowing out though. That way you will have a constant flow of fresh air moving through the canopy, keeping things nice and cool in there.

Sweet setup!!

Looks like you have done your homework.
I have almost the exact same tank and planned setup. I am getting ready to make my sump / fuge out of a 29 gallon glass tank also. Any advice would be geat. Any chance I can see a plan / drawing on how yours is working to compare to what I have designed? Is your tank supply going directly to your skimmer and empting into the sump / fuge?

Thanks for the quick replys and compliments.
DragonZim- I read several threads on the fan direction and decided to try blowing both inward first. I will definately experiment with other methods later, Thanks.
Fishy.....-I attached a quick sketch (not to scale) of my sump/fuge setup... might be hard to read. If I could do it again I would use thicker acrylic or glass for the baffles. Mine do the job but bend a little under load. Other than that it works great! I would also leave the back open on the stand. Mine is completely enclosed and it gets too humid even with the fan on. I will probably end up taking the back off. My skimmer is hanging on the side of the sump pulling water from the same section the display tank drains into. I also have the heater in that section. With the dimensions I have on the attachment below there is room for all the water in the lines, skimmer, and overflow to drain into if the return pump fails or the power goes out-with about 2 gallons to spare.
1" between baffles
Baffles not on bottom are 1" up
Angle piece is 4" - I use carbon in the space created and am experimenting with other filters and media -any ideas will be appreciated.

Looks awsome! i have a question if you don't mind.
1. where did you get your tank from? i have been looking into starting a reef tank and wanted a 75 with the corner overflow but have only seen the center overflow.....unless i get a glass tank drilled but would prefer to buy it like that allready.
edit: 2nd question i havent done much research on fuge but is there a disadvantage to having skimmer before fuge part of sump or not? i have seen some with skimmer before and some after. just wondering if you came across this in your research

Thanks for the input. What a cool website!
kwilliejr-
ro/di is not plumbed into auto topoff. That would be the ideal setup but I am unable due to location. Now if I had a basement, or wanted to run 30' of tubing through my attic, I would do it.

1. tank is an All Glass Aquarium from a local fish shop here in Billings, MT.
2. Like many people I have read post after post and finally just did it. I think some people(inclucing myself) put way too much thinking into some aspects, and this may be one. The skimmer is beneficial anywhere; even in the display tank if you have too.

Slight typo...corrected. I purchased #180 of sand for the whole system. There is #160 in the display tank and #20 in the fuge. It comes out to about 4.5" in the display tank. Is that too much? Hasn't even been a week. I don't think its too late to adjust it. Let me know....if you read this. This is another subject that I overstudied.
