I'm getting 800 watts of MH lights tomm. that will be the only lights on my 135 gal. for now. It is fowlr but I'm going to get the good stuff later :) My question is how long do i run the light fist to get the tank use to the lights without a big green mess:confused:

I have mine 10" off the water and i broke them in running 2 hours on, 4 hours off, 2 hours on. The total goal is 6 hours on bc i have vhos that run 10 hours and NOs that are evening lights. Anyway, I closed the 4 hour gap over a period of 4 weeks. I would close the gap by one hour (30 minutes on each end) and give one week to acclimate. That may be too fast for some, but i didn't have much in the tank. It doesn't hurt to take your time closing the gap for the photo period.
