ive had my mandarin for almost 6 months now...I feed him live brine shrimp. I am planning to add more live rock but i also have 4 other tanks so it deffinetly eats up my money..

Just be sure to soak that brine in some vitamin/mineral supplements, as well so that it is more nutritional...alone they are very poor for a long term diet. Will eat it anything like frozen mysis or bloodworms?

Thanks for the advice..noones told me that before..I just did add a copperband and i feed him frozen mysis and the mandarin seems to like it as well as all the other fish in there. Just out ouf curiosity. I know that my yellow tang is suppose to be a herbavoire and is suppose to eat algae but he eats everything i put into my tank...even the dried krill for my puffer. Has anyone else who has yellow tangs notice this?

They will commonly do this but you really should provide it also with the algae sheets or herbivore preparations. I would say, and its not offense meant, you have been exceedingly lucky so far. Best of luck with the copperband which is notoriously difficult to get to feed and live. Mandarins, also, tend not to eat anything prepared or frozen and typically will starve without lots of LR or a refugium system. To add on to the brine thing, if you feed live brine you can even get some liquid foods (such as selcon or similar) and put it in with the brine...let it sit some time for the brine to "eat" and then the mandarin will get some extra food. The tang, IMO, looks quite good (as do the other fish). With the addition of some more live rock, and maybe a lighting upgrade (which is typical), you may be ready to start adding some corals!
What are your nitrate levels like?

Thats what a lot of people have told me..that i am lucky..my nitrate levels are at 0, my nitrite levels are zero. I`m looking at a dual satellite compact lighting system for my tank.

Before you buy the lighting, just decide what sort of corals/anemones/clams or whatever you may be interested in. You may find that you still won't have the lighting you want.
