Hi , Just a Question what the hell happened ? I woke up this morning turned on tank lights as ususal took shower. Came down turned on 14 k lights drank cup of coffee was going to get paper smelled burning plastic . After some investigation found my pc lights in flames . Thank god I didnt leave early like I normally do my wife & children were still sleeping. Is there a way to prevent this ?

did you drip loop? i didnt do that at first, went thru 4 surge protectors. what kinds of pc lights are they?

Hi . Fire started in light itself drip loop was there. Light less than a year old not sure of brand bought of e-bay. Have surge protection on tank also gfi this is making me sick I have h/c grandson who lives here only 18 months this tank is for him he loves it . Any suggestions? Thanks John

e--bay, could have gotten a bad brand..what are you running in your tank? tell us more about it..u might have just gotten a bad light, but before you buy a new one ask around for better suggestions so you dont ever have to deal with a fire starting thank god you were up and no one was hurt.

do the lights have a cover over the bulbs if so i hope you took off the saran wrap material that most have on it

well pc bulbs don't get that hot, but that is a good point.
Dude if you get made in china bulbs off some unscrupulous seller you're gonna have problems like that.

You get what you pay for... now you know the risks.. Is it worth saving $20 to have your house burn down or worse?
