What would you suggest for a 90 gallon fish and live rock only tank. I have corals in my 46 gallon tank so I don't plan on adding them to the 90. I want fish that aren't reaf safe for it. Tank is 48X18X24 in. I have a choice on the tank setup too. I'm thinking about building it into a wall in my finished basement so a retro will also work.

If you build it into the wall and could use a retro kit I would go with 175w MH
I just like the way they look...

I like the thought of the MH and the effects it will give. Certainly it will get lots of attention. What kind of price tag would I be looking at?

You can usually find a nice setup like this one which will give you a whole lunar cycle https://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/showthread.php?t=316954 . I just sold this one because I bought a 2x250 watt model. I think a 2x150 would be perfect for a fish only tank. The halides give off a more realistic look in the water and you can change the spectrum to get more of a blue color. These models stay pretty cool and the ballast are in the fixture themselves which saves a lot of room.
