I've built my own stand, Should the back be open or finished. I thought of using peg board to get some circulation.
Also, my 90g has a built-in overflow. Should I buy the kit that they offer or plumb it myself, the kit is $40ish. it all the pvc, float valve etc. If I do build mu own, does anyone have any diagrams on how to do so?
I can't wait to start this baby up!
Thanks!

i built my own overflow kit for like 20. it was easy. took me about 2 hrs, and most of that was driving to the harware store and back. (did not have any pvc laying around)
you are going to need 2 things from the LFS, the actually connectors through the tank, and the snake returne. I got my LFS guy to just throw them in since the tank is worthless without them.
have the down tube almost to the top of the tank, otherwise you will have a "waterfall" noise the entire time. I have mine within 2 inches of the top of the tank.
email me if you have any more questions. I'll take some pics tonight if i can get access to it (shoved the tank in a corner)

I just set my 90 gallon up! You can do it all with PVC through your local hardware store. Take the diameter of your two holes, i forget what they are, 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" ???? and just get the appropriate male the female adapters to fit in the holes! Make sure you are measuring outside diameter of the PVC at the local hardware store! Then a nice bead of silicone on each side to form a gasket, and screw them together and away you go! I used a duroso DIY stand pipe thanks to Johnny salt! and just make an 90 degree elbow out of the tank and voila!
