Hello guys! I'm setting up at 90gal reef tank on my tank. I just bought a new top because of my younger brothers rough housing friends and their tank top breaking skills. -sigh- Anyway, I need lights, thats all I'm worried about right now. I'm looking to keep everything! (well except clams and such). I just need to know what are the strongest and reasonable (both price and performance) out there.

The strongest lights are definitely metal halides but T5 lights are about as good but for much less. As for brands... you really get what you pay for. You can go really cheap but in the end, all you are getting is a really cheap light. In other words you could have overheating ballasts, bulbs changing spectrum quickly causing algae growth and wasted energy due to not having enough reflectors.
I guess you need to decide what features you are looking for... Halides give a nice shimmer effect, T5s provides more even lighting and more color choices. There are units with built in fans and moon lights... If you are going full reef, then you definitely want moon lights and timers to turn everything on and off.
