ok i have had put salt in my 55g tank and it has been about 2-3 weekes and there is still alittle salt in the left side of the tank.could it be that i only have a 4.5 turnover in my tank so far?

Did you put salt in first and then add the water?
If you did some of the different salts combined in too high a concentration and precipitated out. I had this happen to me early on in a rubbermaid garbage can. It was difficult getting the precipitate out.
