Ok I have been to this Message Board now for 2 days and still confused. lol What exactly is a Nano tank? Sorry for being so lame, I'm new to the whole salt water community.

I was always told that a Nano Reef is anything under 10 gallon but I have seen post of tanks as big as 30 in this forum. Nanos are harder to maintain than a big reef and to me it is sort of an art form. Just my two cents.

Nano means small (or in time - short).... so most people say a nano is a small tank generally under X gallons.
Personal theory - anythign under 4 feet long and being a standard narrow style rectangular tank is a nano ....
but to avoid confusion I say anything under 30 gallons ....
