From all your research Im using tap water for my tank. Should I use a R/O type or is something else good. Dose anyone know where to get a cheap one of these or should I use something else to get pure water in my tank.
Thanks

do a search for ro/di filters. i got mine for 100 bucks (70 for teh filter, 30 for shipping). It is against board rules to post where I bought it from, but if you search for it you will find it.

+ Clear (DI)De-Ionized filter + Needle valve

you could perhaps get a 30 dollar tap water filter that just takes out the chlorine and chloramines in the water...
If you truely want to get the nitrates and phosphates out of the tap, you should get an RO/DI unit.

u can get the tap water filter for about $40. it actually does remove phosphate and an assortment of heavy metals. the end product is distilled water.
