You do need to use caution with hermits and emeralds. Though the success to tragidy ratio for the emerald is in your favor. Some can be destuctive.
I love snails. Turbos, Mexican turbos, orange moons and astrias are all in my tank and working there little butts off. Also conchs are great for your sand. Just do not go over board. They can/have starved do to over population.

Heard fighting conchs are good with the sand. Sandsifting star is also helpful and there are certain snails and fish that you can also look into.

fighting conch, scarlet reef hermit (when small),sand sifter, margarita snails, nassarius snails and astreas.Do not use sea apples, sea cucumber or nudibraches they release poison into your tank. <img src="graemlins//uhuh.gif" border="0" alt="[U-Huh]" />

I have a cuc in my tank for 6 months now with out a hitch. It is true that they can release toxins. But mine has endured alot and has never messed with a thing. I like em'.

Ya I have 3 cucs - A yellow with white dots, a brown with white dots, and a solid brown. No troubles with them however I've read that the sea apples - although beautiful- are deadly to reefs (toxins).
