A couple 20 long set up ?'s

I've been out of the hobby for a while and I'm setting up a 20 long. So far I have the back painted black, sand , salt and heater bought. I also have everything for a closed loop ordered. I have 130W PC and a Aquafuge 2 with the protein skimmer from an old tank I'm thinking of using. I also have a five gallon bucket of live rock thats been sitting dry. Now for the questions.
Should I replace the Light with something better? I've heard alot about T5's.
Since my live rock has no life should I cycle the tank with raw shrimp or would a couple pieces of uncured rock be enough to cycle the tank? Or both?
My plans on filteration are live rock and the Aquafuge 2 with the protein skimmer, how does that sound?
Any other suggestions?

I would add my rock and the shrimp to kick start the cycle. What do you want in the tank...will answer if you have good enough lights or need to upgrade. Add live sand as well.
