A.D. (after damsels) STOCKLIST

Well, we put damsels in at the beginning (our first tank.) Earlier today I caught the domino damsel with a 2-liter bottle trap. I still have the blue devil to catch, but I am confident that it wont be long. Now, I am beginning to think about what to put in next. We want unique NON-AGGRESIVE fish. I would also prefer smaller fish as I like the look and can get more with all the LR i have. We have a 38 gallon (8 months old), with about 70 lbs. of really good quality LR and tons of coral of all types.
Stocklist (current):
maroon clownfish (apparently the most non-aggres in the world, he just doesnt care about other fish at all)
Pajama Cardinal
Sleeper Goby
I want a Mandarin for sure and think we will soon be established enough. Also, I really like the flame hawkfish. Would some species of anthia work? We have a killer reef going, now I am FINALLY getting rid of these damn damsels. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure where you read about the maroon clown, but it's not very peaceful at all.....I own one, and he's one of the bosses in the tank. They tend to get larger than most clowns, also. Have you thought of a False Perc or a Tomato clown instead? If I was to stock that tank, I'd do:
Tomato Clown w/ bubbletip or long-tentacle anemone
Pajama Cardinal (2??)
Flasher Wrasse of some kind OR Evansi Anthias
Watchman Goby
Green Mandarin, weaned on formula 1 just in case
What corals do you have in there?

They didn't say that they were going to get a maroon...they already have one and the certain one that they have is very peaceful... It all depends on the fish... I would suggest a sixline wrasse, bicolor blenny, or maybe even a longnose hawk but it probably isn't the best choice...would be a gamble with some inverts

Yeah, I have a maroon, he is pretty good-sized but the most laid-back fish that we have. Cedar- what about a flame hawk instead of the long-nosed? I just think they have so much personality perching around watching everything. I like the wrasse idea and I will have to look up that anthia. However, I have to also say that I am saying a no-go on an anemone. They move around and disturb your corals and will even sting some, I just think they are a pain to care for with a bunch of coral. If you like them they are worth it, imo they aren't though.
Corals:
tons o xenia
tons o maroon zoos
orange/green zoos
Big finger leather
Big torch
Green star polyps
Flowerpot coral
Large purple brain coral
Pink candy cane
Purple mushrooms
Sunflower coral (only one that isnt doing well, idk why?)
And a corky sea finger (gorgonian)
Anyone else???, bonus points for most unique suggestion.

yeah the flame hawk would probably be good...maybe a firefish or two if you have a cover on the tank n I hear ya on the anemone...exactly why I would never get one... clowns host frogspawn n other things with tentacles lol ive seen em host anything from slipper/tongue coral to clams! another fish i love is my lawnmower blenny!!! they have great personalities... hmm i can probly think of some others...yellow watchman gobies r cool... a scooter blenny or mandarin dragonet would be awesome if u can feed it pods n try to get it to eat some prepared foods, too...royal gramma, carpenter's flasher wrasse, midas blenny...so many options lol

I agree hawk fish are cool but due to their perching nature not the best choose with corals as they will disturb your zoes and other corals.

My zoos are super-hardy tho, thats stuff grows like weeds in my tank, I doubt a hawkfish would bother them much. Its on day 3 now, and I havent caught the blue devil damsel, I think he saw me get the domino damsel and is to skiddish now. I have let my clown eat out of trap to entice him, but not yet. Also, will a sleeper goby and a watchman goby fight? I now know that I will NEVER get the sleeper goby out. He's OK, just puts sand all over everything.

***not totally after damsel yet, caught the domino, but the fiji blue devil remains. Anyhow, I did catch a 4-inch bristleworm and my bigass sleeper goby that I wanted out. I need something that will keep my sand relatively clean but not sift all over corals (like the sleeper did.) Also, we are getting a mandarinfish for sure once we get the last damsel out. I need some feedback on my proposed list so far:
Already have:
maroon clown
pajama cardinal
basslet (i need an ID)
I want:
Mandarinfish
Flame Hawk
Neon Dottyback
