I visited my neighbor today and even though he does not own a fish tank it dawned on me that he is a pretty serious fish guy. Last year he and his son dug out a 14ft deep pond that is about 700ft in diameter which takes advantage of a small stream that runs through his property. Then on the outlet section of the pond they built a trout hatchery which rears the trout from eggs they get at the local hatchery to about 4" inches when they are released into the pond. This year due to the fact that last years fish are getting bigger they are going to a floating rearing tank for the fry so they can get a little bigger before they are released into the main pond to keep them from being dinner for the bigger fish. Just thought I would share a little different take on keeping fish and feeding time today was a pretty awesome sight.
