a difficult Red Algae..any advice?

This is a red vein type algae that is spreading on the rocks. The tank is 3 months old and, outside of coralline that is developing, there is very little, if any, nuisance algae in the tank other then this stuff. It's a 34 gallon set-up with 7 hermits, 10 astrea snails and an emerald. Fish: 1 small clown and 1 firefish.
This stuff seems to be on the move (now on all 25 lbs of LR to some extent)and will not scrub off...LFS says probably chisel off...any other suggestions? An I.D. on what the heck it is would be helpful too. Thanks for any considerations.
Since water-temp is back to normal (got a little warm) and over-feeding addressed, parameters are sound.

Please do a search on Anotrichum barbatum and how to eradicate it. A troublesome red turf algae.
As always there are two things that contribute to the proliferation of algae in our tanks. Those being nutrient and light. If you have a photoperiod that is not overly long and you have a nutrient poor tank then chances are good you will not have algae problems.

Thanks to Spanko for the response.
While researching this red algae, there was an article claiming that it does poorly with longer periods of light..that of course is in conflict with other algaes. Does this register with anyone? It is the only unwanted algae in the tank....
