A few questions

I have a 29 gal tank. I just got a Coralife PC 30"...I see alot of posts that say to run the 10,000K and Actinic at different times...in this light there is one 10,000K and one actinic paired, so they are always on together. Is this OK?
Other question....I have a BakPak skimmer..today I took out the filter strands, should I leave it empty or put is small pieces of live rock? I also have a HOT magnum canister with carbon in it. Should I run it with the carbon, or empty. I don't have any PH yet, so I need the water movement.
I'm restarting the tank, just switched to LS, so the only critters right now are a yellow-tail damsel (had him several yrs) snails and crabs, 18# LR

It's perfectly fine to have the bulb running both spectrums at the same time. Sounds like you have a 50/50 bulb.
You can leave the bakpak chamber empty.
I prefer to run carbon, but they lose their effect in a few days. I change my carbon every week.

Thank you for your response. I've only posted a few times and usually don't get much of a response to my questions. Perhaps they are too simple or too broad?
