A few questions

1) If a test kit I have for testing nitrates if over 2 years it's expiration date will it have an impact on the real test results I would get from a new test kit ?
2) How much of a water change do I have to do for a 55 gallon FOWLR to lower the nitrates to a good level if they are hovering at 70ppm ??
3) Is using purigen and chemi pure together on an emperor 400 for extra filtration a good idea ? ( can't have a sump atm )
4) Is there anything I can do that would help my seaclone 100 by modding it in some way to increase it's effectiveness ??
Thank You for any feedback on this ! I've learned so much from these forums since I began last year and I am still learning !

1. It's possible. It's always a good idea to use test kits that are within the expiration period.
2. Typical maintenance water changes are around 10%, but if you are having problems, it won't hurt to increase this to 20-30% and do them more frequently. I have heard of 50% water changes, but generally only in an emergency, as this could really throw off some things.
3 & 4. I don't know, as I have no experience with this particular equipment.

thanks !
i figured out my source of nitrate problems in the tank and i got rid of them and sifted the sand a bit i have chemi pure and purigen running and skimmer aggressively
i am doing a 10 gallon water change for today and then after a few days maybe a 5 gallon change
