A few quick questions on a DIY project

Well I got my tank yesterday and now I want to begin work on my frag tank that will be inline. Its a 20g tank that has been used in the past as a freshwater setup, and i was wondering what reef safe chemical/product i could use to clean the inside. Also, I will have a 4x24w T-5 fixture over it and im building some slats for it as the light isn't as long as the tank. My question here is how high should the T-5s be over the tank to avoid heating issues? Thanks

I would just clean it with baking soda and water. Use a soft cloth that won't scratch your tank. Then when you are done, rinse the tank with a vinegar and warm water solution.
Place your lights far enough so that they don't get hit by salt spray. Maybe about 4-5 inches depending on your setup.
