I'm sorry if I am the cause of this. I am really frustrated at people who seem to be pushing boundaries for sport.
This is a family forum. I recomend it all the time.
We are here for our tanks and even for those that don't have tanks yet or don't have one currently, it's the love of the hobby that is the common thread.
This board has always had it's share of innuendo, more so in the aquarium but never have I seen the open cursing and the name calling here before. Never once do I recall it in all my time here.
Have I lost my cool, you bet, and it is not something I am proud of, even apologizing to the original poster because "I" do value this forum and the members.
I never had a cross word with a member until I reminded that it was a family forum after something that was a little questionable with reference to the younger readers (my child being but one) and was attacked, on the thread and through pm. It was a simple question, no malice intended.
Since then I felt like when I posted elsewhere, I was attacked. Out of all the people who were more adamant about their views, mine was singled out. I have never, ever felt attacked on this board or felt that I should not post on this thread or that thread to avoid a conflict or a confrontation.
I turned over the pm's to the mods and have gone about my business. Until today, when I saw the one more dig thrown in. It's not funny to me. I don't know how someone who tells someone "F" you maliciously is still here in the first place.
I am not laying any blame with the mods but do feel that the board is in a weird place. In all the years I have been a member, have there been complaints about me? Ha, the only time I have ever been reprimanded in any way prior to this fiasco was when I put up a tattoo that is on my lower back. I was reminded sternly that this was a "family" site and the photo removed if I remember correctly. The picture never struck me as bad as you saw less than if I was in a swimsuit but I understood and didn't want anyone to be uncomfortable. I like the forum and the people and understood.
The first time "I" ever made a complaint was when the trolling situation had gotten really bad. Again, they were being disrespectful to those of us that were here because of our common interest. I took a little step away for a few days to regain my level as to why I am here, which is the tanks, which is the same thing I did this time as well.
