Blue tube is an inlet pipe for a rena canister filter I suspect.....

LOL as "Yankee" as it gets here in NY. Your tank looks sweet Mie!!!! I have a 46 bow that is just calling out to be a reef! I have FW fish in there that I am not willing to part with. I like the look of my bow way better than my other tanks though
