a poem..

Was in Lit today and another poem inspired me to attempt my own.. never done it before.. here is the 8 minute results.
"Reef Tank"
I ordered it.. just two days before..
It's taken Fedex one day--no more.
It comes with a 'knock'... 'knock' at my door..
Careful now; the lady demands "no water on my floor."
Grabbing carefully... a slight tremble... I begin to pour..
This procedure is required! It's my hobby.. not my chore.
Hmm.. a spot there.. and there! I want more!
The motion.. swimming... swaying... never a bore.
The chore.. NO! the hobby I love.. this hobby.. I adore.

I use a similiar one like this for my wife.. always gets a laugh..

You have to put something in there about the tank or nobody will know what you spent your 10 thousand on...
For example:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
On my fish tank I’ve spent one thousand or two
I need some more lights so I am not through.
It is't as nice as Spegs, but this is fun! First giggle I have had today...I needed that.

I didn't get the heaters, I never made it to the pet store. My serpent star came out and right before my eyes fell apart, its little legs just fell off...it was horrible..he was still a little alive..I put him in a cup until the end came for him.. I took him out because I don't know how much of a CUC I have left, if any. I fear the ammonia spike from die off will be the next wave of disaster. My 10g QT isn’t big enough to house all the fish, I must prepare water for changes but it takes 2 days to fill the tub with my RO water and 24 hours to mix the salt.

Well you know how to kill a funny poem thread!!! J/K...I have actuallly thought about you all day when I found out your problem. I've lost everything before and I hope you don't have to feel what I went through.

Fish tanks go Ka-blew-ee you know its true so
It's sushi tonight for me and you.
I haven't lost everything, my fish are eating, so I think they will be alright, I lost my coral and inverts.

It's a really good poem, but I think it could do without the ellipses. When one reads it with all of them in, it seems a tad awkward.
That's just my opinion. I wouldn't have even mentioned it, but you did ask for criticism :)
Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Isn't violet a secondary color formed from the combination of both red and blue?
I never understood that.

I bought my first tank, What a mishap!
Filled her up and heard a loud "crack"!
With no center brace i was dismayd to find out
"That sucker could crack then water pours out"
I cant have that I firmly decided
I need a new tank and I wont have to hide it.
Im just starting out, this cant be aborted

I took some time out, got my head re-aligned
Started looking for info to see what id find
Now Im sure that most of us can safely agree
Some of us might have been born in the sea
Last house on the left, last street in Atlantis
Just get the right house cuz my neighbors a mantis.
And If fish had computers I bet they would wish
To live in these tanks seen on SALTWATERFISH.

Ok my turn to try:
When I started this hobby
it was with a book called "how to.."
you could imagine my suprise
that they left out a thing or two.
Things were going well
or so I did assume
then wouldn't ya know it
came the hair algae bloom
I needed to get some fish
I added a tang and clowns
it wasn't until later
that my smiles turned into frowns
Because what do ya know
before my eyes did appear
these tiny little white spots
ICK on my little dears
Quarantine? What's quarantine?
my book didn't mention that
so should I just give up now
and feed the fish to my cat?
It's been six long years
and I still have those fish
you live and you learn
but for the newbs I wish
That you research this hobby
to find the answers....you read
