A tribute to a blenny

Today I lost my Midas Blenny. To be honest I was kinda expecting his passing but not in the way it occurred. I have had him for about a year and he quickly became my favorite fish. When I moved him from my 55 to my 90 I thought I had lost him somewhere in the rocks. But he came back out and has been a main player in the tank. With a lot of personality and lot of playfulness he brought color and action to the tank that none of the other fish do.
We affectionately called him our dumb fish. I have an elephant ear and as you may know they eat fish. Well one day I look over at my tank from my big chair and I see a elephant ear closed up with a blenny head sticking out. Well I jumped up and tapped on the glass and he swam out. After that day I found that he would spend a lot of time perched on the elephant ear. It would close around him and he would swim away. Often he would swim backwards into the half closed elephant ear and get cozy. I really expected to find him half eaten one day being pooped out of a then real big shroom.
Today I got a call that he jumped from the tank and was on the carpet. It was too late. He was gone. In all my travels I have not ever seen a midas with such vibrant color. He was one of a kind, Today the tank is a little less bright.
R.I.P.

Don't want to high jack your thread, but thought you might identify with my midas experience.I lost my midas last month. He survived the garage incident but was never the same. He died in this hole 5 months later. Our fav thing he use to do is guard his hole as if it were a shrine. He would pick any hermit crabs off the rock and toss them. He knew exactly when the last lights went out at night and was tucked in just before they went out every night. We miss him dearly. He was our fav fish also, so i know how you feel
Here's his garage story and a pic of him in his hole right before he died. RIP both midas's, the name midas is appropriate.

So sorry for your loss. That was one beautiful fish. It must have been an honor to have such a nice fish for the time you did.
