Is it an overflow box? What kind?
Can you hook up a air

[hr]
(valve) to the top of the tupe the attach air tubbing to a power head? The power head will suck the air out and disperse it in your tank while maintaining suction for the overflow.

Chances are your return pump is not powerful enough for this overflow.
What return pump are you using, on what size tank ?

i have a 55g tank and my return pump is a SATLY-SUB 1 pump and it's keeping the water in the wet/dry at a low level wich is about 1/2inch higher than the sucking part of the pump
so.........what's going on?

A trick I learned from a fellow member:
Take your U tube out and turn it upside down under water to fill it up.
Take some plastic wrap and cover the ends.
Hold the plastic tight and turn tube over in overflow box.
Remove plastic. Presto! A no sucking on an airline suction will start to flow and you won't get air in the U tube either!
Works Awsome!! Thanks to Deucey for the demonstration!

Good idea wamp. Tell Deucey I guess he does have half a brain after all.
If I had to guess, I would say that the return pump is not strong enough either. If the water is going out of the tank faster than back in, you will suck air into the tube and lose siphon. I have an Amiracle overflow and have never had a problem. My return pump on that tank is pumping around 500 GPH after head pressure.
