If thats a BioBooster like Cycle or something, then it sounds like you might have overdosed a little.
Just skim the foam off the water, and test the water quality.

I am not sure what it is? Never used it before but somebody on here Unleashed I believe told me that it is good to add when adding a new fish. I think is supposed to be like some kind of medication I guess to help you fish calm in to the tank

I have heard that it is good stuff. If it continues to be a problem try Stress Coat. I use it and have great luck with it when adding new fish, or helping repair damaged fish.

melafix is a natural remody antibiotic and anti fungal treatment and stress reducer .it calms new fish when adding them to a tank.but will treat an infection if they have one you ont know about or before it becomes a problem..as for the foaming effect .ihave never had that problem i leave my skimmer on when i dose my main tank others say they turn theirs off i think it varies by type of skimmer. sorry it took so long for me to see this post

I left my skimmer on but the foam went away like after 1 hour. The clown made it through the night I dripped him while floating in the sump for about 4 hours before I put him in the display tank when I put him in I turned all the lights off. So far he has just swam in one corner of my tank he was there when I went to bed and he is still there this morning. How long should I wait untill I turn the lights on?

I've had an oil slick like coating on the top of my water with a tiny bit of foam when I used melafix to treat my lion a few months back. The foam disipated pretty quickly and the slick cleared up when I turned my skimmer back on. My LFS told me to turn off the skimmer for at least an hour when treating the tank.

ok I will try that next time thanks for the help guys I think this clown may actually make it. My last clown once I put him in the tank he just sunk to the bottom breating 10000 times a sec and hid the next day dead. This guy I put him in the tank and he stayed over in the corner all night and I turned one side of my lights on and now he is over on the lighted side exploring the tank and as far as I can tell his breathing is good

Be very careful when using Melafix to ANY tank...FW also. It is a tea tree oil and sometimes human products carry it as Mellaluca (sp?)...My dh got shampoo with it and it burns the heck out of your eyes if you get it in them !!!
Also has been known to kill turtles if not diluted properly !!!
Make sure you do not overdose
