Hello! As always, my first post for my tank thread will have no pictures. It only has a list of equipment and specs.
Display Tank

72 x 30 x 30 with 3/4" acrylic (285 gallons)
2 x corner overflows
Sump

48 x 24 x 24 with 1/2" acrylic (120 gallons)
3 chambers:
1st chamber is just filter socks
2nd chamber is a fuge with 50 lbs LR and lots of macro algae
3rd chamber is empty except for a few frags
Pumps are externally plumbed.
Equipment

Protein skimmer is plumbed from the 3rd chamber
Precision Marine XL2 fed by a Reeflo Snapper
Return is powered by two Reeflo Snappers
Each return leads into a Wavysea wavemaker
Internal Tank circulation is just two K4's. (seems like not enough, but water is very turbulent in the tank)
Fuge circulation is one K4
Display Tank lighting is powered by Solaris LED's. Only a 48" for now, because the 72" I ordered has yet to come in.
Fuge lighting is Current Nova Extreme T5's (4 x 24watt)
Stocklist

A total of 550 lbs LR in tank and fuge
3-4" sandbed
1 blue tang, one orange shoulder tang, one purple tang, 1 pair of picasso clownfish, 1 pair of true perculas, one pair of scooter blennies, one sixline wrasse, and one golden sailfin blenny.
Lots of corals...

I'll do pictures later.
Thanks for reading!

I'll post a few pictures now... just because I feel like it.
These two pictures are both outdated

a new echino i got. no photoshop. only moonlights and custom wb. the color is starting to look like this during the day (i got it bleached). its supposed to be a tyree coral (got from someone who got from tyree) but who cares, its awesome.

an fts so you all get an idea of how the tank looks

thanks for reading!

and for reference... these are not ng's either, they are knockoffs... i have a thing with knockoffs, lol

This i bought as acan bowerbanki, which i doubt it is. pattern looks like a common indo acan pattern, but wrong skeletal structure, and polyp is near 2" across. I got curious the other day and forced it to close up and found what i was looking for. its a scolymia australis :D

MOAR!

You have some very nice corals. I don't care if they are knock-offs they are very nice.

this feeds my ATO 24/7

bad picture of the left side of my tank's inners. you can see ATO resevoir, phosban reactor, and the far left chamber of the sump

another outdated picture. its my fuge and last chamber. in the last chamber, you see pumps... none of those are there anymore, its completely empty.

some solid green nog from my protein skimmer 2 weeks of not emptying the collection cup.

please excuse the mess...

beware of dog!

action photography is just about luck
this shot he was happy as can be, just barking and waggin his tail at the schutzhund decoy.

the sump was not exactly DIY. I had a friend build it for me... but, i did plumb it up.

Morval:

i love the solaris. i heard about quality issues with the first two versions, but the latest is definately the greatest. no quality issues AT ALL. plus i like being able to control color temperature whenever i want. if i am going to have guests over, I run it around 20k, for color, and when there are no guests, i run it at around 12k, for color and growth. plus i dont have to run a chiller. saves a lot of energy too!. i was going to run 3 x 400watt MH before, and thats 1200 watts, the fixture i ordered is 800 watts total. you also have to add another 400 watts to MH for a chiller. i love the product... but thats just me.
