? about sand

I am moving my aquarium soon and was wondering if it would hurt anything to take out my sand and replace it.

Brandi, how far ya moving the tank, why would you replace the sand, how big is the tank? Barry

I am moving the tank about 5 or 6 miles down the road..not very far. I want to replace the sand because the sand I have now is really fine and I want a grade or two bigger. And my tank size is a 55 gal.
Oh yeah I love your daushund hot883 he is so cute, I had one at one time and she was so sweet.

But fine sand is good!

At any rate, you can swap sand when you move the tank. Make sure to keep your liverock damp during the move. Once the new sand is in place let the majority of the dust settle before putting corals back into your tank.
